Grand Piano

A Special Thank You to the Congregation
for the Final Sanctuary Piano Donations

During the month of June, SOTP received enough special donations to the Sanctuary Grand Piano fund to pay back the General Operating reserves for the final two piano payments. The Finance team really appreciates the generosity of our members to help us preserve our General Operating reserves by contributing to these final two payments. We are truly blest to have resources to grow all ministries for our growing Church. Thank You, from the SOTP Finance Team.

We have officially Re-Opened our Welcome Center at church and we need your help to greet visitors with a smile, let them know we are happy to see them and welcome them to Shepherd of the Prairie. At the Welcome Center we have visitors fill out an information form, give them a mug, and thank them for their interest with encouragement and kindness. The Welcome Center is a Shepherd Of The Prairie Community Outreach ministry. We need people like you to sign up and greet people at the end of each service.

World Hunger

ELCA World Hunger

SOTP made a difference in 2020 with your gifts to ELCA World Hunger. We gave $5,625 to help alleviate poverty and hunger here in the United States and throughout the world. Your incredible generosity reminds us of God’s work in and through us, particularly while we were also undergoing the COVID-19 pandemic. We will be receiving a Certification of Appreciation from the synod office which will be posted on our bulletin board.

The SOTP Mission Team directs gifts to ELCA World Hunger at various times during the year. If you wish to make a personal gift in 2021 you can also give gifts directly to ELCA World Hunger through regular SOTP offerings. Indicate “ELCA World Hunger” for any funds you want designated for this ministry.

For I was hungry and you gave me food,
I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink,
I was a stranger and you welcomed me.

– Matthew 25:35

Flower Note

Let There Be Flowers

Joyfully, we are begining to meet in person for our worship services as well as doing our online services. We continue to ask you to please consider signing up to donate flowers to brighten up the sanctuary. As normal, each arrangement is $50.

The bouquets are delivered from the florist for the weekend worship services. You can pick up your flowers after the Sunday services or on the Monday following. The church is open from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

If you are interested in donating flowers, please contact Diane Mollis at dem910@outlook.com . Provide your name, address, phone number, for whom the flowers are dedicated to or in memory of, and which Sunday you are interested in displaying the bouquet. If you have any questions, you may call Diane at 224-654-6677.

Thank you for saying yes to flowers for the sanctuary!

Collecting Gently Used Tablets

SOTP's Barnabas Ministry team (along with Pastor Mark) is starting a new ministry here at SOTP soon and we need your help!

SOTP is collecting gently used tablets—the ones that are sitting at home collecting dust because you don’t use them anymore.

We will be erasing everything currently on these devices before using. Please drop off at Welcome Center or the church office.
